FUMA Alumnus, Ali Khalafalla, Qualifies for 2016 Olympic Games

Fork Union Military Academy alumnus Ali Khalafalla qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games this month when he swam a FINA A time in the 50 Freestyle at the Orlando Grand Prix. Khalafalla, who currently swims for Indiana University, swam the 50 in a time of 22.25 seconds, placing third behind Nathan Adrian and Calaeb Dressel. This time was a full half-second faster than his entry time and equals the fastest time ever by an Egyptian.
